TikTok, the popular social media platform for short videos, has also entered the world of online shopping in its biggest market.
After several months of testing, the social media platform has introduced the e-commerce product TikTok Shop in the US.
The number of Tik Tok users in the US is more than 150 million.
For TikTok Shop, the company has added a special shop tab to the home screen while live video shopping, shoppable ads (ads) and other features have also been introduced.
Tik Tok Shop was being tested by Tik Tok in the US since November.
ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, is also testing different online shopping methods in the UK and South East Asian countries.
A blog post by the company said that Tik Tok Shop will allow companies and individuals to connect with consumers and improve the online shopping experience.
Tik Tok users will be able to buy products of their choice through videos and live videos.
Users can also search for different products from the dedicated tab for Tik Tok Shop.
Users will also be able to earn money from Tik Tok Shop and they can sell companies’ products for commission.
According to the company, more than 200,000 people have signed up for TikTok Shop so far, while more than 100,000 people have signed up for other parts of the program.
