Elon Musk’s social media platform X (Twitter’s new name) faces another big challenge after Threads.
Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey’s new social media platform Blue sky Now ready to hit the X.
Now you can join this platform that comes as an alternative to X.
For about a year, Blue Sky membership was invite-only, but now it’s open to everyone.
Three million people had already become members of the platform before it was made available to the general public, and the number is expected to grow significantly.
Blue Sky is a similar platform to X in terms of looks and features but is different internally.
Blue Sky is a decentralized social media platform based on the ATP protocol for social networking.
Being decentralized, BlueSky’s code is completely open source and people outside the company can see how it’s developed, but can also develop their own algorithms.
“You don’t have to wait for a single organization to change, but we’ve designed BlueSky so that everyone can change it the way they want,” said Jay Graber, chief executive of BlueSky.
This platform gives more options to the user.
Jack Dorsey has been working on this new platform for a long time and unlike X, this new social media platform has user data stored on independent servers, meaning it cannot be accessed.
Jack Ducey has said in the past that he regrets commercializing Twitter and would prefer to work on an open source project if given the chance.
In a tweet in August 2022, he said, “My biggest regret is that Twitter became a company.”
Work on the Blue Sky project began in 2019, and Twitter initially provided capital for the platform.
It was later handed over to an independent company in 2022.
