It often happens that most people do not know the meaning of the things that they see every day.

Yes indeed, most people using the Google Chrome web browser do not know what the lock icon next to the URL means.

A study by Cardiff Metropolitan University found that 95 percent of people don’t know what the lock icon in Google Chrome means, and only a few percent know the exact reason for it.

Most people think that this icon means that the website being opened in the browser is safe, reliable or authentic.

But this idea is wrong, in fact, this icon only shows that the data sent from your computer is encrypted and that’s it.

Researchers asked 528 people between the ages of 18 and 86 about the meaning of the lock icon in the Google Chrome browser.

Most people were confident they knew the meaning of the icon and said it indicated the website was secure.

He said that this icon indicates that a website is safe, virus-free and trustworthy.

But all of their answers were wrong and only a few people explained the icon correctly.

According to the researchers, a lock icon next to a web URL indicates that the communication between the website server and the user’s computer is encrypted using the HTTPS system.

No third party can access this communication, but that doesn’t mean the website is secure.

According to the researchers, this icon indicates that data sent from your computer cannot be seen by anyone but can be stolen by a website, especially if it is a fake or fraudulent website.

He said that if a website is showing a lock icon, it does not mean that the website is secure.

He added that most users see this icon and are satisfied that they are on a secure website when they are not.

For this reason, the lock icon in Google Chrome is being removed and replaced with a tune icon, so that users do not get confused.
