Federal Minister for Information Technology (IT) Dr Umar Saif has said that Pakistan can become a digital corridor of communication for the region.

Dr. Umar Saif said in a statement that China, Russia and Central Asian countries can take advantage of Pakistan’s location. By using this route for digital connectivity, it will take 100 milliseconds less time for Europe and Africa.

He said that now we have two fiber loops from Kashgar to Karachi, Etisalat has established its first carrier neutral data center which will be inaugurated tomorrow.

He added that talks are also going on with China, Pakistan is expected to get 200 to 400 million dollars annually from the transit route as the routes are ready.
