Well, Facebook is the most popular social media platform in the world, but it is not very important for the youth.
In fact, children and teenagers between the ages of 11 and 17 spend most of their time on Tik Tok.
This claim was revealed in a new study.
According to a study conducted by Mission Gun University, children and youth between the ages of 11 and 17 spend an average of one hour and 52 minutes on TikTok every day.
In comparison, people of this age spend just one minute on Facebook.
Similarly, children and teenagers aged 11 to 17 spend 10 minutes on Snapchat and 16 minutes on Instagram.
If any app can compete with Tik Tok, it is YouTube, but people of this age group spend an average of 40 minutes there.
The study also revealed that at least 50 percent of teenagers in this age group receive 237 notifications per day on their smartphones.
The purpose of this research was to know how young people use their smartphones.
The study involved 203 children and adolescents aged 11 to 17 who had software installed on their smartphones that allowed them to learn how they used their devices.
According to research, teenagers spend most of their time on social media and use different apps for an average of 153 minutes per day.
TikTok is the most popular app among this age group followed by YouTube and gaming apps.
The research revealed that most of the youth prefer Tik Tok because they don’t like to read or type posts but just keep scrolling.
The study also discovered that 59 percent of children and teenagers use their phones between 12 midnight and 5 am.
