Google has added new features based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology to its popular Maps service.
These features were announced by the company.
Search in Google Maps has been updated to make it easier for users to find specific places or things near them.
Now if users search something on Maps, they will also get photo results to make it easier for them to explore new places.
According to the company, this new feature is initially being introduced in France, Germany, Japan, UK and USA and will be introduced in other countries in the near future.
Google also said that the Maps navigation interface is also being changed to show the surrounding areas in a more accurate way.
For this purpose, the colors in Google Maps have been updated so that people can have an accurate idea of roads, parks and other places.
This new feature will be rolled out in 12 countries over the next few months.
The feature of space limit information in Maps by Google will also be introduced in 20 countries during the next few months.
The process of finding charging stations is also being made easier for customers who drive electric vehicles.
This feature was made part of Maps some time ago but now it is being further improved and users will be able to know how fast or slow the chargers available at the charging stations will be.
Along with this, Google also announced the introduction of some old features based on AI technology in new cities.
The Immersive View for Routes feature is being rolled out in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dublin, Florence, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, San Francisco, San Jose, Tokyo and Venice.
Google is also rolling out the Lens feature in 50 more new cities.
Based on AI and Augmented Reality technology, this feature makes it easy for users to understand their surroundings while getting details about various things like ATMs, transit stations, hotels and others.
