Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp has added several new features in recent weeks.

Several new features including HD videos, message editing, using one account across multiple devices are now available to users.

One such feature called Channels was introduced in June 2023, which was limited to a few countries at the time, but has now been rolled out to users worldwide.

A blog post by the company said that the Channels feature is being rolled out in more than 150 countries.

Now users worldwide will be able to follow channels with the help of a searchable directory.

Users will be able to search and follow channels containing updates from their favorite teams, hobbies, personalities or other fields.

It will be possible for the admins of these channels to share text, photos, videos, stickers and polls with a large audience through the channels.

Along with introducing the feature in more than 150 countries, some new additions are also being made.

According to the company, the channels directory is being improved to filter channels by country.

Users can also express their reactions to the channels’ posts through emojis, while admins will be able to edit their posts for up to 30 days.

According to the company, every user will be able to create their own channel in the coming months.
