Artificial intelligence (AI) technology may lead to the end of humanity.
This warning was given by Elon Musk, owner of Tesla, SpaceX and X, during the world’s first AI Safety Conference.
According to Elon Musk, he believes that this technology is a threat to the existence of humanity, because for the first time in history, humans will face a more intelligent competitor.
The government delegations of 28 countries, including the United States, China, India, France, Germany and India, are participating in the 2-day conference that started on November 1 in the United Kingdom.
All these countries also signed a declaration on the first day of the conference, which declared AI technology as a potential major threat to humanity.
Speaking at the conference, Elon Musk said that ‘I think AI technology is one of the few major threats to humanity’.
He added that ‘we are not more powerful or faster than other creatures, but we are more intelligent than them, but now for the first time in human history we are facing something more intelligent than ourselves’.
He said that ‘I don’t know whether we can control such a thing or not, but I think we should determine the path that will be useful for humanity’.
Elon Musk said ‘I think this is one of the biggest threats to the survival of humanity and if we look at the advancement of AI technology, it’s probably the biggest threat’.
He hoped that during the conference, international coordination would be created to regulate AI technology, so that an authority could be established to monitor the progress of AI companies.
At the start of the conference, a video message from British King Charles III was broadcast, in which he said that AI technology will create opportunities, but urgent action is needed to prevent the risks posed by it.
